A truthful rolling pressure graph with low-duty background sampling, independent of optional CSV logging.
Graphing and CSV logging are separate
Graphing maintains the routine Barograph history and can be left running without creating a dated CSV file. CSV Logging is optional and is intended for deliberate test, engineering or archival sessions. Both use the same pressure-sampling engine but can be controlled independently.
What the graph means
The graph plots real accepted pressure samples. It does not invent extra points to make the trace look smoother, and it breaks the plotted line across a large sampling gap. The current rolling display covers 24 hours.
Adaptive ECO sampling
When collection continues in the background, Marine Barometer wakes briefly, takes a pressure sample, records the required graph/log information and returns the device to sleep. The adaptive interval is normally in the roughly 10- to 30-minute range, keeping background duty very low.
When the app is visible the instruments remain responsive from the live sensor, while Barograph points continue to follow the controlled sampling cadence.
Start, Pause, Resume and Stop
Starting Graphing from OFF asks whether you also want a CSV log. If Graphing and CSV Logging are both active, PAUSE pauses both and RESUME resumes both. If only Graphing is active, Pause/Resume applies to Graphing.
When both are active, STOP can stop the graph, the CSV log, or both. Graphing remembers its normal running state across app restart; CSV logging remains deliberate/session-oriented.
Travel and time zones
Elevation changes can masquerade as weather pressure. Use Barometer Lock for a short local excursion. For longer travel, change to an appropriate reference elevation or pause Graphing when the trace would no longer represent one place.
New dated CSV logs include an absolute timestamp and the local UTC offset so a flight across time zones does not look like a false gap or backwards jump in time.
Files
pressure_graph_current.csv is the rolling graph/display cache. A dated pressure_log_YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS.csv is created only when you explicitly enable CSV logging. Calibration observations are stored separately in calibration_history.csv.
